How to create an AWESOME wedding ceremony!!!!
Firstly, let me say, working as a Sydney wedding celebrant for such a long time now, that every couple is unique and so should be their wedding ceremony. In general, I have found over the years since 2004 and now a Hills District Wedding Celebrant, that some of the best weddings have some key ingredients that set them apart from all the rest.
So, I’ve put together some inspiration and handy hints, that may assist you in creating the kind of wedding day you have always dreamed of:
Create a Village
- For those fun fabulous weddings, the key is to create a village atmosphere. Now this doesn’t mean we all sit around on hay bales and drink lemonade after raising a barn together. You can still have an elegant ceremony but create a ‘village vibe’. It’s about inclusion. Some of the best ceremonies have little tricks in them to break down that ‘fourth wall’ and make everyone feel like they are involved in the event rather than just witnesses to it.
Consider your Venue
- Consider the style of the venue for your wedding ceremony. The style of the venue can say so much about the vibe you would like to create for your wedding day. As a Sydney marriage celebrant for so many years I’ve had the privilege to conduct wedding ceremonies at every type of wedding venue that you can imagine.
Some of my favourites though, encapsulate a style that brings elegance to your wedding day, if that is what you are aiming for. Venues such as Gunners’ Barracks, Sergeants Mess, Cropley House, Vaucluse House
Include something Visual
- Do something visual. This could be an element within the rituals of your wedding ceremony that adds a degree of symbolism. This could also be in the way the wedding day is styled. Talk with your fabulous Wedding Celebrant about ways you can include rituals of meaning and substance within your ceremony. You can also talk to some amazing Wedding Planners in and around Sydney who can advise you on the look of the day. I am fortunate to work with some of the best in the business, such as Couture Wedding Planning, White Rabbit Projects, Samantha Burke Events, Girl Friday Weddings
Do Something Different
- Do something different. Talk to your Marriage Celebrant about the elements of the day that are most important to you. Answer those questions that will assist your Celebrant in gaining a greater understanding of something that makes you a unique couple and then create ceremonial elements that everyone will recognise and identify as yours. It will make your ceremony stand-out and be entirely memorable for all the right reasons.
Have Fun!
- Give everyone permission to have fun. It’s your wedding day!!! Yes. It is a very serious and legal undertaking. Which is why your Authorised Marriage Celebrant is accredited by the Attorney General. And you are publicly declaring your intention to be with this person til you die and signing documents that say the same. But it can be fun if you want it to be, so chat with your Wedding Celebrant about some great ways of making everyone present relaxed, engaged and ready to have a good time.
Make it Personal
- Make it about you!! This is your wedding day. When the guests arrive, you want them to know they are at the right wedding. Your personalities and your personal taste should be evident and certainly a key part of the ceremony. This is where a great marriage celebrant can assist you most. Crafting a ceremony that celebrates not only your love and marriage, but also represents who you are as a couple and as individuals, so that everyone present can share in your joy and happiness.
